Reversi
Trap your friend's pieces between two of yours and they turn your colour. Each of you plays whenever you can.
How to play Reversi
- Challenge a friend. One plays red, who moves first, and the other blue.
- Taking turns, each of you places a piece that traps a straight line (horizontal, vertical or diagonal) of your opponent's pieces between it and another of yours.
- Trapped pieces turn your colour. You can only play where you trap at least one.
- If you have no move, you pass. When neither of you can play, whoever has the most pieces wins.
Frequently asked questions
Is it the same as Othello?
Yes. Othello is the trade name of Reversi with these rules and this starting position.
Do we have to be online at the same time?
No. It's turn-based: each of you plays when you can and we let you know when it's your turn.
Do I need to download anything?
No. You play in the browser, on your phone or computer. If you like, you can add it to your home screen like an app.
