Dots and boxes

Draw lines between the dots and close boxes: whoever closes one goes again. Each of you plays whenever you can.

How to play Dots and boxes

  1. Challenge a friend. The board is a 5 × 5 grid of dots, with 16 boxes.
  2. Taking turns, each of you draws a line between two neighbouring dots, across or down.
  3. Whoever draws the fourth side of a box keeps it and goes again.
  4. When every box is closed, whoever has the most wins. At 8 each, it's a draw.
